Question: Does the Lawrence Police Department offer fingerprinting services (for example: so that people can request background checks on themselves)?
Answer: The Lawrence Police Department offers fingerprinting services from 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday. You must bring a current driver's license, payment at $5.00 per card (subject to increase), and a stamped envelope addressed to the destination for the fingerprints. The fingerprint cards are mailed directly from the Department to the requesting agency and not returned to you. The Department does not offer background checks to the general public except for special visa and adoption requests. All criminal history checks should be made through the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, and can be requested online. For more information regarding LPD fingerprinting, please contact the Records Division at 785-832-7501.

Question: I posted a question on here weeks ago and it was never answered... In May, my dog was attacked by another dog. The girl committed to pay but is yet to give me the outstanding balance. There is a police report saying that she owes me. Can I get help?
Answer: If your case has been prosecuted and a judgment rendered that includes payment to you, the court that rendered the judgement is the source of redress for any violation of such an order. If the case has not been prosecuted, you will want to speak to the court that has jurisdiction, which will most likely be Municipal Court. Please contact that office regarding your inquiry.
